About RAB
Trainer
RAB sessions are run by qualified personal trainer and Level 2 Recreational Running Coach - Peter King.
I love running and exercise. It’s a big part of my life. Separate to group training sessions and personal training, I run most days and do strength training 5 days per week (focusing on split muscle groups). I’m one of those people that attend fun runs and genuinely find them fun. However, this hasn’t always been the case.
I grew up in Charlton and played a variety of sports including football and basketball. However, as I got into my mid-late twenties my habits started to become pretty unhealthy. I was sedentary, smoked a pack of cigarettes a day and carried an extra 30kg. I made the decision to quit smoking and change my lifestyle in 2015 after a major operation due to a benign but aggressive tumor in my neck.
My go-to activity became interval training, it helped me manage my cigarette cravings and was an easy way to start running with rests in between. There began my love of running. In 2016, I completed my qualification to become a Personal Trainer and since then have trained strength and conditioning sessions, run sessions and personal training sessions. I am registered with Fitness Australia and continue to expand my education and training knowledge through professional development.
As a trainer, I’m not your loud and extroverted type – in fact I’m a pretty shy person who has worked hard to become a confident trainer. I hope to provide my clients with sessions which are fun, supportive, and focused on each individual working towards bettering themselves. Whilst it may sound cliché, it makes me so happy and proud when clients achieve goals such running distances they never thought possible for them.

Yes we train rain, hail, shine (wind, frost and the dark too!) And on the flipside you’ll get to experience some of the best sunrise and sunsets in Bendigo. You can’t control the weather so we don’t let it control our training routine and group sessions are a great way to stay accountable. We do have undercover options in bad weather for group sessions. Personal Training is available indoor gym set up.
